ABOUT MAIKE
Psychologist M.Sc.
Podcast Host
Neurodiversity Coach + Consultant
Synaesthesia Artist
I’m Maike Preißing (she/her), a neurodivergent psychologist, podcast host, artist, and neurodiversity consultant from Germany, currently based in Oxford, UK.
I hold a BSc and MSc in Psychology from Leopold-Franzens University in Innsbruck, and over the past 8+ years I have worked with adults across a range of mental health and neurodivergence-related settings.
Early in my career, I joined a research team in the Papuan highlands of Indonesia, where we studied female sexual health. This experience deepened my curiosity about human complexity, lived experience, and the many ways people make sense of themselves in different cultural and biological contexts.
Today, my work focuses on neurodiversity consultancy, with a particular emphasis on autism, ADHD, sensory processing differences, and synaesthesia. I experience more than 10 forms of synaesthesia myself, which continues to shape both my personal perspective and professional understanding of perception and cognition.
In 2023, I launched my podcast Let’s Talk Synaesthesia, where I interview experts by experience and professionals from around the world. The podcast explores synaesthesia, neurodivergence, and the lived experience of perception, particularly in late-diagnosed autistic and ADHD adults.
My current work sits at the intersection of psychology, neurodiversity education, and lived experience. I support individuals in understanding their cognitive and sensory profiles, recognising patterns of overwhelm or masking, and building more sustainable ways of living, working, and relating.
This is not therapy or clinical treatment. My work is psycho-educational coaching and consultancy-based, focused on understanding your neurodivergent needs.
Alongside this, I continue to develop projects, talks, and community spaces around neurodiversity.
